Yellow Boomerang, Inc is the culmination of many years of community service and the love of giving. It finally came to fruition in early 2022 to help serve as a vehicle for the community to be involved in our giving projects under one organizational umbrella. But, in reality, Yellow Boomerang has been at work for many years through the efforts of Anna Behnam and Fred Aryan.
Anna Behnam is a grassroots busy bee. She thrives on helping others become their best selves. She is the first to volunteer and the first to support a needy cause especially if it’s local to her DC Metro community. Over the years, Anna has been involved in Dast2Dast, an organization that focuses on feeding the homeless where she is on the Board of Directors, she helps her local business community through her local chamber of commerce and enjoys volunteering for other local organizations. Her proudest work came to life during 2020 when Covid brough many families’ incomes to a halt. During this pandemic, Anna focused her efforts on getting food on as many tables as possible. This is where she really started to engage her local community. Through events on her driveway, she has been able to get her community members to come out to pack food, clothing and toys for those in need. Her partnership with Fred Aryan grew organically since they worked on these efforts together.
Anna is a business owner and lives in Bethesda, MD. She is a mother of two children who keep her young and laughing.
Fred Aryan has always had a love for strengthening his local community and community at large. He is the first to extend a helping hand for those who are in need of assistance. Some of the projects that highlight his passion for community work include founding the Iranian Student Association at University of Maryland in 1983. He is on the board of the Iranian American Community Center in the DC metro area and was instrumental in setting up its physical location and related programming in 2015.
One of his most prized accomplishments is establishing his own private Foundation, Aryan Hope Foundation, to assist other nonprofits that share similar mission and values as his own.
Fred is a director at Dast2Dast, a local nonprofit that feeds the homeless in DC metro area. He rides his bike to fundraise for a local DC nonprofit, Bike to the Beach, to raise awareness for autism. He has supported programs internationally that help the underprivileged population in third world countries.
He is also a member of Alegria Foundation that makes annual visit to Colombia as a mission trip to help kids with cleft lip and palate and facial deformities.
Fred co-founded Yellow Boomerang to further support his local community and is hopeful that through this organization, he can continue to give back.
Fred is retired and lives in Virginia. Most of all enjoys spending time with his son.

Empowering Our Community
87-4735493
In setting our course for the next few years, our goal is to support local causes that aim to improve the lifestyle of our neighbors. Our hope is to work mainly with residents of Montgomery County and surrounding areas. We hope to focus on helping those in need with immediate necessities such as food, clothing, small housewares, etc. But our bigger plan is to help a few families raise their economic status by supporting them with housing, purchasing a car, applying for better jobs and supporting their children’s education.
